Meet Le Pine Funerals in Box Hill

Le Pine Funerals has been providing funeral services to families in Victoria from our funeral homes in Melbourne for over 125 years since we first started in 1891.

Our caring funeral directors have supported families in the Box Hill area for many years. We have a strong connection to the local Italian community and arrange many funerals though the parish of St Francis and St Clare. We also cater to our Asian community with native speaking Funeral Directors to assist your family. We are proudly serving the families of Box Hill North, Blackburn, Burwood, Surrey Hills, Camberwell, Nunawading and other surrounding suburbs. No matter your faith or religion, we can help arrange a funeral that honours and celebrates your loved one’s life.

We will work closely with you, attending to all the details so you don’t need to worry during this difficult time.

Our people

The team at Le Pine Funerals Box Hill are with you every step of the way, keeping you informed and guiding you through the arrangements as much or as little as you need.

Meet Karen McKenner, Le Pine Funerals Box Hill location manager.

What do you enjoy about your job?

To meet with families and assist them to create the most beautiful, respectful farewell for a person they loved deeply and who played an important part in their life is the privilege I have. Managing our branch to create a warm friendly environment for those that come into it, regardless of the reason (families, trades, staff) is another wonderful part of my job.

How long have you worked in the funeral industry?

I started in 2018.

How long have you been a Location Manager?

I am at Le Pine Box Hill now but started as Location Manager of the Burwood branch in 2019.

What do you love about the community your funeral home is in?

It’s is a very established community of diverse families – with all the different religions and traditions which come with that. It’s a wonderful melting pot of cultures.

What do you enjoy in your spare time?

Honestly, the last year has taught me ‘carpe diem’ - to seize the day. Time with family & friends, a good book, the garden or whatever happens I enjoy it.

Are there any special community relationships, groups, associations or charities you work with or support?

Stable One is an umbrella company that provides a safe space with a warm bed, tasty meals and good company for homeless people in different church locations throughout Victoria. It’s a project which I would like to support more.
